Tilletia laevis, asociada a caries del trigo, es una plaga fúngica del cereal que puede afectar la sanidad de la semilla y comprometer el cultivo desde su origen. El problema agronómico requiere prevención porque la corrección posterior suele tener poco margen. El control de caries del trigo exige proteger el material de partida.
En Simiente de trigo y Simiente de triticale, esta plaga puede afectar nascencia, sanidad y uniformidad si el foco se instala. La solución no pasa solo por reaccionar ante síntomas tardíos, sino por defender el cultivo desde la semilla con soluciones autorizadas. Si el problema avanza, el potencial productivo queda limitado.
