Tilletia controversa, asociada a caries del trigo, es una plaga fúngica del cereal que puede afectar la sanidad de la semilla y comprometer el cultivo desde el inicio. El problema agronómico es relevante porque estas enfermedades suelen requerir prevención antes de la siembra. El control de caries del trigo exige enfoque preventivo.
En Simiente de trigo y Simiente de triticale, esta plaga puede comprometer implantación y sanidad si el material de partida no está protegido. La solución no pasa solo por reaccionar ante síntomas posteriores, sino por defender el cultivo desde la semilla. Si el problema se instala, el margen de corrección es bajo.
